Twitter's employees are jazzed about the company they work for -- so much so that their votes got it to the top of Glassdoor's list for having the best "culture and values."
The honors come via hundreds of thousands of US employee surveys across all industries submitted to company-review site Glassdoor. In the past, Glassdoor has made lists of the top-rated CEOs, best benefits, and favorite company to work for. But, this is the first time the site has tallied up the votes to create a "Top 25 Companies for Culture and Values" list (only companies with at least 1,000 employees are counted).
So, what do Twitter workers like about the social network? Meetings on the roof, teamwork, friendly atmosphere, and an open dialogue with the execs.
Glassdoor says that company culture is one of the top five things job seekers look at when looking for a new job. Other factors include salary, location, and career opportunities."Team meetings on the roof are the best, great teamwork and a lot of smart people," a Twitter software engineer told Glassdoor. "I love how the 10 core values drive the company to always be better."
Tech companies are known for having a casual culture -- and it appears employees like that. Of the top 25 companies on Glassdoor's list, 11 are tech companies. Besides Twitter, Google, Facebook, and Apple also made the top 25.
