The number of applications available on a software platform for mobile devices is perhaps the most important criterion for selection and can make the difference between success and failure, like Microsoft, BlackBerry or any other company that tried to oppose Android/iOS. The newest addition to the Windows Phone Store is the popularFacebook Messenger.
As the rival Android or iOS operating systems,Facebook offered from the beginning a dedicated application that also included the messaging option. Closed in the parent application, it was not the most convenient communication tool for those who often use Facebook instant messaging network, the problem is solved by the separate Messenger app.
As with similar products on the Android and iOS, Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone 8 features taking all messages instead of the traditional Facebook application, customizing messages with stickers and pictures, initiating group conversations, sharing geo-location, signalling Facebook presence and offering a conversations log.
The famous Chat Heads are absent, they probably didn’t fit with its different graphical environment, voicemail options are not yet implemented and compatibility is restricted to Windows Phone 8 leaving behind Windows Phone 7.x handset owners. The good news is that the product is developed by Facebook, not by Microsoft, which promises a faster update rate.
